Health In Her HUE Secures $3M in Seed Funding to Enhance Offerings for Women of Color

Health In Her HUE, a state-of-the-art digital health platform designed specifically for women of color and Black women, has completed a $3 million initial fundraising round. This is a huge milestone. The strategic investment aims to accelerate the company’s development trajectory. Its main objectives are to introduce new programs and products and to broaden its talent pool. Leading the fundraising round was Seae Ventures, with involvement from several notable organizations such as Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab, Stanford Impact Fund, Genius Guild, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, HBCU Founders Fund, and a group of angel investors.

Health In Her HUE was formed in 2018 by Ashlee Wisdom, a seasoned practitioner in the healthcare business. It is a vital conduit for members to access culturally competent and accommodating healthcare providers and resources. Wisdom’s ten-plus years of experience in the healthcare industry highlights her dedication to improving the quality of treatment for blacks and women of color. With 13,000 members currently, the website provides a wide range of services to help its customers throughout their healthcare journey.

Connections:

This service helps users identify healthcare providers that meet their individual requirements by providing a database of over 1,300 distinct providers across 60 disciplines. This guarantees tailored, culturally appropriate treatment.

Content:

Many informative health resources are available on Health In Her HUE, including articles, live/on-demand virtual events, long- and short-form movies, and more. These materials have been carefully chosen to help women manage their health in an educated and proactive manner.

Community:

On the site, women may participate in forums and learn about a range of health-related issues. The Care Squad Program is noteworthy because it provides peer support groups and a curriculum created by doctors that address problems including fibroids, infertility, mental health, and other related topics.

Ashlee Wisdom took great delight in how Health In Her HUE has helped Black women and women of color prioritize their overall health and well-being by creating a safe venue for them to do so. She emphasized how the platform is well-positioned to address current racial health inequities by matching users with healthcare professionals dedicated to learning about their lived experiences and providing high-quality treatment. Partner at Seae Ventures, Arianne Kidder, praised Ashlee for her vision and drive in bringing women of color and Black women to culturally competent care. The choice to lead this fundraising round was based on a clear emphasis on building a community, bringing together a committed team, and establishing a platform to realize this ambition. In their efforts to increase the number of Black women and women of color with access to healthcare practitioners, services, and resources focused on their health and well-being, Ashlee and Health In Her HUE have the continued support of Seae Ventures.
