Beyond Dating: Bumble For Friends Levels Up with AI Icebreaker”
Bumble For Friends, the innovative sibling app focusing on friend connections, has unveiled exciting new features, including ‘Plans’ for coordinating meet-ups and AI-powered icebreaker suggestions.
The ‘Plans’ feature facilitates real-life meetings by allowing users to form groups of up to 15 people. Whether creating a private or public plan from the app’s bottom, users gain the flexibility to extend invitations for private plans, while anyone can join a public plan. The app also empowers users to share their plans on other platforms via a link, offering visibility to public plans based on proximity.
A notable addition to the app is the AI-generated icebreaker feature, designed to assist users in crafting engaging first messages tailored to the other person’s profile. This dynamic prompt appears for both users upon a mutual match, providing a convenient starting point for conversation.
Users have the option to modify the suggested question, request another prompt, or craft their own. However, each chat session allows the use of only one AI-generated icebreaker. As of now, the app supports suggestions exclusively in English.
Bumble initiated trials for a dedicated friend-making app earlier this year, debuting in select markets such as the U.K. In July, the company officially launched the Bumble For Friends app in several countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the Philippines, the U.K., and the U.S. Since then, the app’s availability has expanded to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain, marking a significant global outreach.
